Flee the Norm and Get Bazaar — at our Second Saturdays sidewalk festivals in downtown Hamilton!
For more than a decade, the Hamilton Flea served as an economic boon and community-gathering event on the Second Saturdays of our Hamilton summers – and for that, we are all very thankful. Its sudden exit leaves a major gap for vendors, downtown businesses and attendees alike… ENTER the “Hamilton’s High Street Bazaar Market 2026”! Some downtown friends and I plan to fill that gap in our own unique, highly-visible (online and on street), wonderfully-wacky and artisanal kind of way.
An extension of the Strauss Gallery’s already successful “Artspace Bazaar” concept, but now with buy-in from all twelve “bodacious brick-and-morter” small businesses on High St who will be open and rockin’. We will also have dessert trucks each time (Coneheads Soft Serve in June and September, Special Neat Treats in July, BabyCakes in August), plus DJs Sparkm, Maul Walker and friends.
Inflatables, coffee carts, live artists and entertainers, DJs, promo and sponsorship banners, and about a bazillion hanging pendant flags (y’all know I love what a festival vibe those create) will add to the sense of this being a downtown festival – perhaps reminiscent to some as the original “Alive After Five” events that spurred downtown excitement and growth in year’s past.
The Hamilton’s High Street Bazaar Market will occur each Second Saturday of summer from 1-6PM on both sides of the sidewalks of High Street from 2nd to 3rd street and into Journal Square. These are free, family-events!
